Itinerary

The tour embarks from the vibrant city of Marrakech, heading towards the High Atlas Mountains. The drive offers breathtaking views and a sense of anticipation as the landscape changes. The first major highlight is Ait Benhaddou, an ancient fortified village that stands as a testament to traditional Moroccan earthen clay architecture. This UNESCO World Heritage site has been the setting for numerous films and is a window into the country's rich history. After exploring its narrow passageways and enjoying a traditional Moroccan lunch, the tour heads to Ouarzazate. Known as the Hollywood of Morocco, this city is famous for its film studios, which the group will visit, discovering the magic behind some of cinema's famous scenes. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Ouarzazate, allowing time to soak in the city's unique blend of Moroccan and cinema culture.

The journey continues from Ouarzazate to the Dades Gorges, a region celebrated for its stunning natural beauty. The drive is scenic, winding through the Valley of Roses, known for its fragrant blooms and annual rose festival. Upon reaching the Dades Gorges, the group will be captivated by the sight of the dramatic rock formations and the serpentine road that cuts through the valley. The evening is spent in a local guesthouse nestled in the gorges, providing an opportunity to experience the tranquility and beauty of this lesser-known Moroccan gem. Here, guests can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, perhaps taking a walk to explore the local area or simply enjoying the hospitality of the guesthouse.

The tour's third day is dedicated to experiencing the allure of the Sahara Desert. The drive from the Dades Gorges to Merzouga showcases the dramatic shift from rugged landscapes to the vast openness of the desert. Arriving in Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes, the group embarks on a camel trek, a quintessential Sahara experience. The trek leads to a traditional Berber tented camp nestled among the dunes, where the evening is spent under the stars. This night is a highlight, offering a chance to experience Berber hospitality, enjoy traditional music, and gaze at the clear desert sky, a stark contrast to the urban lights of Marrakech.

As you arrive back in Marrakech, you'll carry with you not only memories of the captivating landscapes but also the warmth of Moroccan hospitality and the deep connection to its rich culture. This extended 3-day desert adventure is a gateway to an unforgettable exploration of Morocco's beauty and its people, promising to leave an indelible mark on your sou

On the final day, an early start allows for a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes – a sight not to be missed. After breakfast, the tour departs Merzouga and begins the journey back to Marrakech. The route passes through the Draa Valley, showcasing a lush ribbon of palm groves and traditional mud-brick villages set against the backdrop of the Sahro mountains. The drive also takes the group through the Anti-Atlas Mountains, a rugged and beautiful range offering a different perspective on Morocco's diverse landscapes. The tour concludes with the return to Marrakech, completing a journey that has spanned from the bustling city to the serene desert and back, encompassing the rich diversity of Morocco's landscapes and culture.
